I was just thinking about starting up a baby sitting service here in Hamilton.

And was wondering if anyone thought it was a needed service.

It would only be for those mums that need time for the shopping, or need a night out...a couple of hours at a time. But I have no idea what would be the asking price?  It would be at my own home...not at theirs. etc

ANY ideas?

what a great idea!! unfortanetly i am in Wellington but I would love something like that here.. Theres alot of parents like myself who have noone available to do stuff like that as my parents like 1 hrs drive away..... good on you..
Places like barnardos and porse homecare charge like $6 of $7 per hour per child.. you dont wanna make it to much so parents cant afford it...

Yeah I was thinking $5 a hour per child. Most mums will only need a couple of hours. lol NOT...lol sometimes I just want a whole day to myself! I know how it feels to have no one you can send the brats off to.  My mum still lives in South Africa...and my father lives in Australia.

If I didnt have caelans fathers mum and sister...ID go nuts! lol I usually pay his younger sister though, Caelan stays their on a friday night(Ipack all her food etc for her) and Pay her $25 for the night. She looks after her from around 4pm on a friday afternoon...until around 10ish on a sat.  caelan usually goes to bed at 7pm. So its only actually a few hours. :)  And for her Aunty(who is 14) $25 is good money. Plus then their is always grandma to take over if things get too much. :)

and if u look after other kids what will happen to your break?
Have you thought about working for a company like porse nanny services or something? i dunno if they are up there but they got heaps down here.. you get paid to look after kids in your own home and they provide resources etc..

Yes they have porse here. I dont want permanent child though. Thats why I decided to do it on my own terms. :) so if I dont feel like it that night or day...I can just say Im FULLY booked! lol

any progress on the baby sitting service?

Hi Im good! nope still havent had baby, only due on the 7th October. No progress on the baby sitting thing, as Ive been so busy with hospital appointments etc.

 

Have a few complications, so they might enduce next week.  At the moment Im frantically getting things prepared for babys arrival. lol
